Studi ini mempelajari karakteristik keluarga yang memiliki anak usia 0-6 tahun dilihat dari faktor-faktor sosiodemografi, pengasuhan tumbuh kembang anak dan sumber informasi keluarga yang berpartisipasi aktif dalam Poktan (Kelompok Kegiatan) Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB) di Indonesia. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah Survei Indikator Kinerja Program Keluarga Berencana dan Kesehatan Reproduksi Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional (RPJMN) Tahun 2012. Hasil analisis diskriptif menunjukkan, dari 2.234 keluarga yang aktif dalam poktan BKB pada umumnya berada pada kelompok usia ibu di atas 30 tahun, berpendidikan tamat SD ke atas, berdomisili di perdesaan, tidak bekerja, memiliki anak 1-2 orang dan berada pada tingkat kesejahteraan kurang mampu (pra KS dan KS1). Proporsi kesertaan ber KB, keterpaparan terhadap berbagai sumber informasi serta pola pengasuhan tumbuh kembang anak dengan katagori ‘baik’, persentasinya relatif lebih tinggi dibanding dengan keluarga yang tidak aktif dalam BKB. Rasio kecenderungan keluarga ikut BKB yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan tabel kontingensi dua arah menunjukkan bahwa sumber informasi dari petugas, teman dan keluarga, tingkat pendidikan serta pekerjaan ibu menunjukkan hubungan asosiasi yang signifikan pada keluarga yang aktif dalam BKB. Pengasuhan tumbuh kembang anak, terutama pengasuhan dari aspek fisik dan sosial juga memperlihatkan hubungan yang signifikan pada nilai p<=0,0001 pada keluarga yang aktif dalam BKB.
The Research studies the characteristics of families with children 0 to 6 years of age who participate actively in groups of Family with Children Under Five Empowerment (FCUFE). The variables studied in this analysis include socio-demographic factors of families, parenting skills as well as family information source on early childhood development. The data used in this study is the result of survey indicators of Long Term Development Plans, 2012. The study result shows that most of 2,234 families who are active in the groups of FCUFE are in the age group of 30 years. Education level of the most of families are primary school and above, living in rural area, unemployed, having 1-2 children, and lower economic status. They are more likely to use contraception, more exposure to information, and better parenting skills than those who do not participate actively in FCUFE.
